Windows
Crank Out Windows. If you have crank out windows, the way I cap is:
I remove the crank outs and the tracks,
Cap both the frame and the crank out,
Reinstall the tracks and the capped crank out
All wood on the outside will be capped. My opinion is: “If you have to paint parts of the window on the outside, why are we capping at all?” Therefore there are some windows I cannot cap. For example wood windows which are sliders. I usually can cap parts of it, but if I can’t cap the whole thing I recommend to not do it at all. Of course there are always exceptions so we can discuss options.
